Close Obsession, Florida, New Projects
In other news, my husband and I are vacationing in Florida! We managed to escape two hours before Nemo hit the Northeast. JetBlue was incredibly accommodating in changing our Saturday flight to an early Friday one. I can’t deny feeling just a tiny bit smug as we sit on the porch of my parents’ house in 70-degree weather. And yes, for those of you who are wondering, I do have parents living in Florida, just like Mia does. My husband is fully human, however :).
Of course, I’m not really on vacation. I don’t think I’ve had a day off since July, when I started Close Liaisons. I’m writing (or editing, blogging, marketing, or doing something else book-related) every spare moment that I have. And I don’t have all that many, since I do have a full-time job and a 2.5-hour daily commute. Vacation is really my most productive time, a time when I’m able to write a solid 2000-3000 words/day. Big chunks of both Close Liaisons and Close Obsession were written in Florida and Costa Rica, respectively.
This time, I actually have three books in the works. One is a continuation of the Krinar Chronicles, and the other two are completely different. I decide which one I write depending on my mood on a particular day. Lately, I seem to be obsessed with one of the non-Krinar books. It’s much darker than anything I’ve written thus far. Maybe that’s why I’m so drawn to it?
Question for readers/others who visit my website*
Early on, I’ve had a few of you contact me about being added to my newsletter distribution list (my initial take: what newsletter?) – and that prompted me to add a sign-up button on my front page for those who want to know about my new releases. Since I, as a reader, had never signed up for any author’s newsletter (because I would just periodically check for my favorite authors’ books on Amazon), I was shocked and pleased to see how many of you signed up once I added the new feature this month. And yes, I will send out a newsletter about the new release in February :).
Now I’m wondering if there is something else that I’m missing and that no one has pointed out to me yet. If you’ve ever come to my site and wondered “why doesn’t she have this”, please let me know what “this” is and I will do my best to accommodate you.
*This is inspired by the new feature of Bitten by Paranormal Romance, where they evaluate author websites for usefulness and ease of navigation.

Close Obsession Teaser #2
A pleasant tickling sensation woke her up from her nap some time later.
Opening her eyes, she turned her head to the side, squinting a little from the bright light. Korum was lying there beside her, propped up on one elbow. Looking down at her with a smile, he was gently stroking the side of her ribcage with one long finger. His dark hair gleamed in the sunlight, and there was a warm glow in his thickly lashed amber eyes.
“What?” Mia murmured, feeling a bit self-conscious. The bikini she was wearing left very little to the imagination, and the way he was staring at her right now made her feel absurdly shy.
“Nothing,” he said softly. “Your skin just looks so delectable in this light. I never realized before how pretty such pale skin could be.”
“Um, thank you . . .”
“And it blushes so prettily too,” he teased, brushing his fingers against her suddenly too-warm cheeks.
